[Novalug] Open Office

It under Tools > AutoCorrect, under the Options tab. There are several
options to replace characters with formatting options like Bullets, just
turn the ones you want off. As to why it's on in the first place, I am sure
it has something to do with mirroring Microsoft Office look and feel. Why
its on by default for them, I can't say.
