I've seen something like that way back .. however ...

I need it real-time. Most of my servers run somekind of application
server, database or combination that's running constantly. Since most of
my servers are virtual, I have the virtualization engine suspected as
being part of the culpret; since it usually happens when a virtual
machine has been idle for a while and is trying to "wake up". But I'm
blind since I cannot tell what process/kernel part is "messing around".
