I would download and install the VMware SDK. Documentation for
vmware-cmd is on page 115 of the SDK Manual (of 148 pages). You can
download the VMware SDK & API:

http://www.vmware.com/download/download.do?downloadGroup=PERL-API-L

for free with your VMware logon and password. I hope this helps.
