I have had issues maybe 2 times a month where my network connection will
fail with the following error
Feb 24 11:45:00 localhost kernel: NETDEV WATCHDOG: eth0: transmit timed out
Feb 24 11:45:00 localhost kernel: sky2 eth0: tx timeout
Feb 24 11:45:00 localhost kernel: sky2 hardware hung? flushing
Feb 24 12:44:49 localhost kernel: NETDEV WATCHDOG: eth0: transmit timed out
Feb 24 12:44:49 localhost kernel: sky2 eth0: tx timeout
Feb 24 12:44:49 localhost kernel: sky2 status report lost?
Feb 24 12:47:34 localhost kernel: NETDEV WATCHDOG: eth0: transmit timed out
Feb 24 12:47:34 localhost kernel: sky2 eth0: tx timeout
Feb 24 12:47:34 localhost kernel: sky2 status report lost?
Feb 24 12:47:39 localhost kernel: NETDEV WATCHDOG: eth0: transmit timed out
Feb 24 12:47:39 localhost kernel: sky2 eth0: tx timeout
Feb 24 12:47:39 localhost kernel: sky2 status report lost?
Feb 24 12:47:44 localhost kernel: NETDEV WATCHDOG: eth0: transmit timed out
Feb 24 12:47:44 localhost kernel: sky2 eth0: tx timeout
Feb 24 12:47:44 localhost kernel: sky2 status report lost?
etc............................
the only thing that will fix it is rebooting the machine. I have a dual
network port on the server
but only eth0 fails. eth1 is fine.
I have read that sk98lin would work better for my network card but I
don't want to do anything
that will make it worse... any tips?
