"FLAT SCREEN" displays... do you mean like the full color outdoor signs
that can show video? The prices on those have come *WAY* down. It used to
be like $600,000 for a 11' x 14' one... now you can probably get one for
$200,000.
If you are talking projectors...it's all about brightness. The brighter,
the more expensive. Most of the big ones will use 3 bulbs, and each bulb
might last 500 hours and cost $500-$2000 per bulb.
Most conference room machines are like 1000 lumens. I own a DLP and a LCD,
and the DLP isn't very bright compared to the LCD.
If you want to look it up, check out Barco, Christie, I think Mitsubishi
has some, maybe Panasonic and maybe Sony.
For about $4000-5000 you can get a higher output (maybe 3000-4000 lumens)
machine at non-HD resolutions new.
