I am still waiting on a return email from Newer Tech, so I can only go on
what the website says.  It looks to me like it supports a USB or Firewire
connection to the docking port and supports a SATA drive within the port. 
I think you would be on safe ground, but I haven't had a conversation with
them to verify.
