Try downloading Winscp for your Windows box. This works gangbusters.

I can connect to my Ubuntu computer using putty and typing in a username and password from my Windows computer. However, when I try to transfer a file to my Windows computer from my Ubuntu computer using the command "pscp -v tjones at 111.111.111.11:/home/tjones/filename ." (that's not the real IP address), I get an "Access Denied Authentication refused" message. Both computers are on the same network, the Ubuntu computer has a static ip and I verified both IP's using ipconfig and ifconfig. I can ping both computers. I verified the firewall settings on the Ubuntu computer. It's strange why I can connect using putty via port 22, but I can't connect using pscp. Yes, I did check to make sure the Caps Lock button was off. Anyone have any ideas as to why this is happening?
