[Novalug] SUCCESS!! was Re: Testing a webcam

OK - I am exaggerating in user desirability but I now video from the
webcam in an app.  I used "LD_PRELOAD=/usr/lib/libv4l/v4l1compat.so
cheese" to get cheese (and skype) to display - albeit ugly - no,  not
the source .. ;-) .... the resolution is 600x480 not the 800x600 max
resolution.  And lighting is bad in my office - great excuse to go
outside on a sunny day!!

How'd I find this?? I stumbled across a reference on a Fedora site which
jived with Greg's comment.
