I've been looking forward to FC11 also.  That said, I really like
Linux Mint which is an Ubuntu spin off.  It's just as easy to use,
generally faster than Ubuntu on the same hardware and comes with a lot
of codecs already loaded (as in, I stuck a DVD in the drive and it
just played, no questions asked).

I used the USB Startup Disk Creator tool in Ubuntu to install Linux
Mint on a USB stick... works without a hitch.
