Go to news.grc.com, get into grc.techtalk.linux, and find
a thread starting April 26th called "to su or to sudo" -- where
you will actually find a calm and careful discussion of what is
elsewhere flame bait in a class with vi versus emacs.

There *is* a trick to make Ubuntu let you do su, becoming
root and remaining root till *you* choose to stop; but doing it
and saying so on an Ubuntu list is not far short of running down
OSX on an Apple list, or demeaning a church in its own discussion
group.

 	Great motto.
