While not flatbed or too portable, I can't even begin to write what kind
of butt-kicking abilities exist for my HP 4215. It's an all-in-one
scanner, copier, fax machine, and printer. Completely supported in
Linux with free software drivers, all for ~$100 when I bought it years
ago. It's easily the best printer I've owned.

If I left this printer in a dark alley with 12 thugs, I'm certain
the printer would prevail.
