 	I didn't mean to imply it was programmatically related, 
only that I could not then check the transfer, because I needed 
OOo-writer to do it.

 	However, I bethought me that I might've forgotten to 
disable NetworkManager on that machine. So I did, and the 
launcher disappeared.

 	One of these days. In this case, since the machine is not 
my main one, once I got the transfer going, I simply KVM'd back 
to this one, and ignored it for a goodly while. Also, btw, all 
the target machine had was a login shell for Jo, not any of the 
stuff I was transferring. There was nothing there to sync with.
