That is very much *not* sudo.

In particular, it is graphical and rather than responding to a user
request for more permission its activated by the permission failure,
the permissions it provides are merely sufficient but not unlimited.

Obvious? Probably. Covered by prior art? Perhaps.  Sudo it is not.

It's somewhat similar to the permission elevation stuff used in the
gnome desktop for getting permission to adjust the time and such.  But
given the filing date, I believe the Microsoft patent pre-dates this
nearest parallel that I'm aware of.
