Pillsbury | Department of Defense and Open Source Software | Tuesday,
November 17, 2009 | Pillsbury's Northern Virginia office | 7:30 - 9:30 am
The Department of Defense (DOD) has issued guidance intended to clarify
the use of open source software. This guidance sends a message that open
source software will be embraced by DOD for its many positive
attributes. The memo further addresses the many misconceptions and
misinterpretations that are prevalent due to the lack of a true
understanding by many business professionals of open source. Will your
company leverage this opportunity into more business? Or will your
competitors use this to gain an advantage over you? Pillsbury’s open
source *client advisory
can help answer some of these questions.
Pillsbury has one of the leading open source practices in the U.S. We
frequently advise clients on open source, IP and government contracts
issues and, more importantly, the intersection of the three. Our
upcoming seminar is designed to help our clients better understand the
legal ramifications at the intersection of these three issues and how to
benefit from DOD’s guidance. The presentation will be conducted by* Jim
Pillsbury’s IP Section Leader and Co-leader of its Open Source group. We
hope you will be able to join us.
