Had an HR person tell me once that when they put out those "experience"
forms where you mark 0-3 (or 0-5, it was 0-3 in his case), he expected IT
people to mark 1 if they heard of it, 2 if they saw it and 3 if they used it at
least once.

Many IT people claim they know something just because they are IT. Of
course, that's largely because many non-IT people expect people in IT to
know everything in IT.

Which feeds back to my prior comments that people should limit
commentary to where they are actually knowledgeable. It makes it
extremely difficult for professionals to work with ATI, Intel and nVidia
when other people are screaming for their heads.

It's one thing to do it from a standpoint of knowing the history. But it's another
thing entirely to do it from naivity or flat out ignorance. It drowns out legitimate
developers trying to work with all the factors -- technical and legal.
