Linuxprinting.org (redirects to Linux Foundation) has a good database
[1] of printers and rates how Linux Friendly they are.

For the record, I bought a Brother HL 2170W b/g wireless mono laser
about a year ago. Had I bothered with the rebate, it would have cost
me $99. Works fine with all the linux and mac machines in the house.
For the flexibility of putting the printer anywhere, I highly
recommend getting one with wireless built in.
