I'm using Ubuntu Remix on my Asus Eee PC and am satisfied. The interface
is "optimized" for the smaller screen and that helps even tho I have to
get used to yet another approach to menus.
Made a bootable thumb drive 'cause there's no optical drive in my Eee PC
- used Unetbootin to accomplish that after downloading an ISO.
One problem: after a few months, the key mapping became messed-up: after
booting and getting past the password screen, when I pressed letter keys
(like j-k-l-;) I would get numbers! I could even issued commands from
the terminal / command line. Not finding a solution easily, I finally
resorted to doing a re-install.
I am really surprised at the battery life in the Asus Eee: it is great.
