[Novalug] OT: High speed passenger trains

The idea, while innovative, is categorized into the same as many
other more efficient, increased capacity ideas like the VSTOL
commuter jumpports and other ideas. The improvement is too thin
against the margins and other issues, rendering the most important
factor of engineering design, microeconomics, a non-consideration.

The Florida constitution was amended almost a decade ago to
require commuter rail between and around cities. Florida is nearly
the third most populous state, but a complete sprawl -- especially
when one considers around half of the landmass being unlivable
(e.g., the U of South Florida was established in Tampa for a
reason geographically). Florida also has the federal I-state
funding based on the '50s, and far more highways are privately
funded, hence the public initiative. Guess where it's going, and fast? ;)
