i've been using encrypted loopback disk to store private bits and
materials on my macosx. i then do a remote backup of this disk
image. this protects it on the destination remote backup drive.
there are problems with that though... one of which is that i want
to share the disk via nfs or apfd on my network. i have to unencrypt
it on my server and expose the disk over local protocols.
i'd like to experiment with some linux disk encrypting protocols.
running apt-cache on my ubuntu box comes up with a wide selection
of choices. encfs, loop-aes-utils, cfs, ecryptfs-utils, libpam-encfs.
anyone got any choices as to where is a good first place to poke?
