Ahhh, that would explain your immediately prior post before
that as well (recommending conversion to a CSV format in the
data itself).  Excel does fine with CSV files, but anything
delimited in another way requires Data or another method to
figure it out.  Which is why I also mentioned I often had
clients who used Monarch in the late '90s (and even through
early '00s) to bring data in from host/iron environments.

As I mentioned, OpenOffice.org/StarOffice Calc really shines
here in comparison.  Even more so after Dan's suggestion to
merely throw the raw text in a middle-click paste which
Calc immediately recognizes as incoming, delimited text and
launches the same dialog/logic as "Insert->Sheet from File."
I never tried that one before, and feel like I've been
missing out.
