[Novalug] Problems with nautilus being slow to load

I have Ubuntu 9.04 - Jaunty

I set up a different set of icons from one of the fancy icon sets. Since 
that was done I have found that nautilus file windows have been very 
very slow to open on large directories. By slow I mean multiple minutes 
when loading home. Also all icons on my desktop vanish while this is 
happening.

Sometimes the icons do not come back until I do a restart.

In the mean time I mostly use System Commander for directory listings.
