Worked out of the box for me on an old Toshbia Satellite (w/o onboard 
wrls) & Karmic.
It was all but impossible to find the chipset info from the packaging or 
the floor droids at MC.
After installing, I seem to recall mine reported as: Realtek RTL8187B 
chip-set
(TrendNET TEW-424UB (v.3.1R) 802.11g USB adapter)
