Is the manual online somewhere? If so, post a link so we can take a look.
Have you called Gigabyte support? I had to deal with ASUS once and they
were reasonably helpful. There was also a reader forum on their page
where you could post requests for help and get answer from other customers.
PNY or Mushkin (I don't think they are in Kansas) might be able to help
as well.
Someone also told me that all other things being equal the slots closest
to the motherboard should be used first.

P.S. Just for the record, you have verified that all sticks are good and
the motherboard will work with any one stick or the two matched pair? If
so, which slots work for the single one and which for the matched pair?
And just as a reminded, what are the sizes again?
