[Novalug] Distro Adjustments (was Fedora Install)

Almost my entire professional career has been spent on Sun OS, Solaris,
Red Hat, and CentOS.

I'm try not to be a big boat-rocker, so when I join a new environment I
do my best to learn The Ways Of The System. I'm guessing that fellow
list-member Maxwell Spangler and I would see eye to eye.

When I started my current job they were an entirely Debian shop. I've
been almost completely CentOS for the past 4 or 5 years but I was all
ready to do as the Romans were doing and become a Debian-fu master.
They had a mix of Sarge and Etch systems, maybe one Woody.

But they surprised me and said, "No, we want to go to CentOS. That's
part of why you were brought on." Ah. Okay.

Slowly shifting systems from various versions of Debian to CentOS has
been...tricky. More than I would have thought at first. I'd have to
get into a different Head Space for each system.
