Interesting idea

Did try writing at lower speed. Of course what I finally did was to try to
upgrade to Lucid via synaptic. Which then completely trashed my system
partition so I ended up reinstalling Ubuntu 9.04 from a CD I had burned
last year (not a CDRW) and then using synaptic to upgrade to 9.10. I have
been afraid to try Lucid again until I can set up a separate harddrive to
install Lucid on. Of course getting a viable CD for Lucid would also help.

The annoying thing is I had no problem taking my laptop from Karmic to
Lucid via the synaptic upgrade. It is only the Athlon Desktop that got
trashed.
