Not seeing anything in the logs - normal stuff and then BAM - then the 
restart messages - not sure what you mean about taping???
I think for now I'm going to leave it with the "nouveau" driver - no 
wobbly windows, OpenGL screensavers are slower - but it works.  I was 
thinking of trying to update the BIOS but I don't have a Windows 
partition on the hard drive and it sounds like a pain to put on a CD 
etc. Also there could be some risk of a bad result.
