[Novalug] Gnu Privacy Guard compatibility

I'm trying to exchange public keys and messages with someone using a much
older version of GPG. (No need for encryption - we're trying to settle an
argument on how easy it is for two cluefull people to use it)

According to what he sent me, he's using:
-----BEGIN PGP PUBLIC KEY BLOCK-----
    Version: GnuPG v1.2.2 (MingW32)

I'm using GPG 2.0.16.

Is there a know incompatibility between these versions? The GPG
documentation mentions a problem with pre-OpenPGP keys from the commercial
PGP product. I'd think GPG would have compatibility but one never knows and
we're talking more than a few years out of date.

I think I have an older version of gpg someplace I can try as well.
