MIDDLE POSTING:
(someone had to)
maps.google.com/biking
does interesting things between Fort Hunt (VA side)
and Fort Washington (MD Side) like into DC
instead of the green trail over Woodrow Wilson
Bridge (nice by the way, 2 miles over, benches
and telescopes in to the monuments,
National Harbor is pricey, and
well take the water taxi from Old Town Alexandria
Torpedo Factory instead (yet to do, but want to)
I'm not sure how I would get to Tysons,
It is shorter distance, but as you have noted
not bike friendly, nor povery friendly,
and my MetroAccess (sent a taxi that ran over
my feet, now 2 years to the day, going to
Fairfax City...)
They stranded me Saturday night in Arlington
seem to have a sudden aversion to my
"inline mobility aid", calling it a bike,
and said I refused the trip, they would
not refuse someone's wheelchair, nor try
separating them from their aid,
so anyone know a good lawyer?
The snickering while they did it,
and the MetroRail attendants
was a little much too...
So it's not likely I'll be able to
attend NoVALUG or much else.
