we stuck with a CRT for years but last month Sears was having a sale
on the LED flat screens and we purchased a 1080p Samsung LED
flatscreen. Out video source is Dish Network (we have had it for years
because we did not get good reception on broadcast locally).

Watching broadcast HD movies on this thing is amazing. We saw one of the
episodes of Lord of the Rings last night and the clarity of the
picture was better than in the movie theater. Of course Dish Network is
not free.

In addition the power requirements for the TV are much less than for our
CRT TV. I did find a good home for the old CRT - one of my friends had his
TV die the day we got the flatscreen :-)
