[Novalug] KVM Switch : Hardware problem?

I've had one of the Trendnet 4port USB ones (with audio) for about six months now. I have seen it go flakey in that it appears not to take keyboard or mouse input (regular flat Dell keyboard and I think a Logitech optical mouse) but still faithfully switching video (I don't use the audio switcher side of it) … and suddenly start working again. I think that the right answer is to power all of the connected systems off of the same UPS to avoid any power issues. I've had issues with it even though it was attached to computers powered on the same house circuit (not UPSed).

If you have it hooked up to a live system, dmesg | grep KVM for a giggle.
