[Novalug] Removing the FIOS Actionec Router, replacing it with my router

Hello,

I want to remove the actionec router from my path, and go right from the ONT
to an OpenBSD router.

1. Can this be done?
2. If so, will Verizon help me or hinder me?
3. I assume one must change the connection from the ONT from COAX to ethernet?

ONT -> CAT5 -> OpenBSD Router

I will substitute a linux router if I must...

Anyone got this particular scenario working?
