[Novalug] DSL/network question

  I'm running ubuntu, updated to the latest out.  I've got a problem and I'm not sure *where* the problem itself lies.

  Verizon DSL and a Westel POS router.

    If I run two programs that access the internet, say FF as a browser and Deluge as a bittorrent client, I'll (quite) frequently have FF unable to connect (time out error) even though Deluge is still running (apparently) fine - d/l at 70-120kbps, u/l ~20kbps.

  In order to use the browser again, I have to shut off the modem, wait at least 15 seconds before turning it back on, and then reboot the computer itself.

  Does anyone have a clue as to what is going on with this?
