Would a good test here be to set the modem to bridge mode and see if the
problem goes away? I'm assuming that there's a modem followed by a
router, like I use, rather than just one device (like I don't use).
Setting the modem
to bridge mode will at least get rid of one of the NAT thingies. I
don't actually
do this myself, believe for some odd reason that NOT "bridging" the modem
gives me one extra layer of security.
