A 32bit Linux can address more than 4GB of ram if you are running a PAE
(Physical Address Extension???) kernel. A PAE kernel plays some tricks
with address space assignments to allow you to use larger amounts of RAM.
It works, but is not as efficient or secure as using a native 64bit OS
which doesn't have to use any tricks to address greater than 4GB. Still
it's not a bad solution if you can't go native 64bit.
