spideroak does NOT keep the encryption keys..they are generated locally 
and spideroak does NOT keep a copy.  spideroak is one of hte only ones 
i've seen iwth a stated zero knowledge policy.  You loose your password 
and they cannot get it back for you.  dropbox and the others do not have 
this protection layer.  I use spideroak exclusively for just that 
reason.  compared to spideroak the others are the horrid idea.
