will try it - maverick is getting long in the tooth but sometimes when i 
do the upgrade to the next version all sorts of problems arise so I 
have to upgraded versions.

am downloading and burning the cd's for natty and onieric however.

my machine is old enough that i have had to go to xubutu - even gnome was 
giving me some problems with resources and I do not want the new gui
