I think what you want is for your SAMBA server to join the domain so that it can authenticate domain users. It will not be the domain server, just a domain member. I have not done this, so I can't be of much help, I googled this though:
http://www.samba.org/samba/docs/man/Samba-HOWTO-Collection/domain-member.html
I am interested if anyone has done this though..
Igor

What are you really trying to do?
Samba domain authentication is used for single sign-on where you have a SINGLE server control the LOGON/access of all machines on a network see:
http://www.samba.org/samba/docs/man/Samba-HOWTO-Collection/domain-member.html
If you just want to SHARE a files/printers with Windows users by Samba (Adhoc) you don't need to use domain authentication.
