[Novalug] Webcam

I needed a webcam for the first desktop system I've owned in years.
It's running LinuxMint 11 (Ubuntu based) and Gnome 2.

I first bought a Gear Head WC1200. It would run under Win 7, but not
under my Linux distro.

I returned it and bought a Logitech c260, which worked out of the box.

As a pre-emptive warning, I did some research on line about web cams and
found, like others on the list have suggested, that Logitech in general
has a great reputation for working with Linux. I ignored those
recommendations and bought the Gear Head model because I wanted to be a
rebellious, tester. ; )

If you want to save yourself some time, I suggest you buy the Logitech
cam that fits your spec and budget needs.

You can check the Ubuntu Web Cam support wiki here
(https://wiki.ubuntu.com/HardwareSupportComponentsMultimediaWebCameras).

Good luck.
