Not personally, no.  I've seen a couple of microscopes with USB
cameras attached to them but I don't know how Linux-friendly they are,
nor how well they work.

However, if you ping the mailing list of your friendly neighborhood
hackerspace (http://hackerspaces.org/wiki/Xerocraft) there are
probably some folks there who could answer your questions.  If you
like I could ask around at HacDC and see if anyone has any suggestions
or helpful information.
