Just to second what everyone else was saying, I have put together a few
different arch builds, but I switched to it full time three months ago.
archwiki is awesome. the install is rather easy and straight forward.
The install docs are in /usr/share/... too, so if you aren't sitting
near another computter it is not a big deal. I really like pacman
better than I do yum or apt-get. as a workstation, it depends on what
you are looking to do. I have (in the past) used eclipse, anjuta,
kdevelop and have had them running w/o issue. I am running kde 4.8,
which I am starting to like. there is a ton of stuff in the AUR, but I
have avoided it so far. i have yet to run in to any problems with the
rolling updates, although three monthes is not that long. so far I am
sold on arch and don't think about what it would be like if i had chosen
aanother distro, as i did w/ fedora and ?[uU]buntu.
