Yes, the nova needs to be more "sparkly."
I was thinking something along the lines of this
(http://www.nasa.gov/centers/goddard/images/content/96296main_SuperNova2A.jpg).
But there's no sense in rendering out that kind of detail until somebody
decides on a design.
