Speed difference in Gnus

Thanks, this function also exists in xemacs (and I did not know about
it), in any case
the information is very aehm spare:
for emacs-21 I obtain:

I tried to compile xemacs, profile package under emacs-21 without
success. Does there exist any add-on package for more profiling
details?
