Some others I just tried:

    * stealth.net hung trying to establish an ftp connection
    * unc.edu doesn't understand SITE IDLE then stops
    * ftp.xemacs.org is too slow to be usable
    * ftp.ca.xemacs.org gives the same error as ibiblio.org
    * ftp.nrc.ca gives the same error as ibiblio.org
