How do you make shared libraries on Mac OS X ?

I don't see the problem.  I've been building the external widget for
years, although I haven't tested it recently.  I just don't use shared
libraries.  Why do you need a shared library?

I don't have a clue how to make them, and have neither time nor need
to worry about it at the moment, but presumably the needed wisdom is
encapsulated in the modules code (ellcc).
