share text in diff files, database, registers, soft links for regions

Right I want the following, 

    -  easy access to the "database" independent of the buffer I use at
       that moment. Ok a find file "this file" could do this but then to
       insert text would mean searching marking copying etc which I find
       uncomfortable. What sort of macros do you have in mind?
