Ediff: Ctrl-v and revert

I'm the Fedora XEmacs maintainer.  I recently received the following bug report:

I can reproduce this with up-to-the-minute builds of XEmacs and the
packages.  Do you have any idea what might be causing these symptoms?
Any help you can give is much appreciated.
