Does it suffer from the same problem that the xft-enabled XEmacs does
with regards to speed over network?

(XEmacs 21.5 with xft fonts is unusably slow - I can see each line of
characters slowly being drawn - over a 8 mbit/s line for me, while
XEmacs 21.5 with xft turned off works great over the same line).
