I think it's in bad taste to end that phrase with anything but a full
stop. I don't consider excluding common terminals on the grounds that
they don't support bidi well "bidi working perfectly". (Admittedly
the Mac's Terminal.app sucks on a lot of grounds, nevertheless it's
still very commonly used.)
Also, I don't see how this can work "perfectly" or portably without
support from XEmacs, given that the terminal generally is not going to
have access to the whole buffer. The UBA is context-sensitive. The
obvious implementation is for XEmacs to maintain the UBA state in the
buffer, then fire off a directional control as appropriate, but this
is non-trivial. At least, both Eli Z and Ken Handa seem to think so.
