I’m sorry, but that’s not a reasonable ground for a veto. It’s possible to
say ‘almost any change will break somebody’s setup’ in objection to any
patch that changes functionality. It’s the details of what will break and
the trade-off of that breakage versus the improvement that the patch will
hopefully bring, that make such an objection worth considering or not.
