Man, you're busy. Are you sure you don't have time to do a 21.6
release? You are the best candidate, you know.
Since the answer is probably "no", would you at least take some time
out to do some strategic thinking about what you would do if you could
do it? The point is that I've got a possible corporate contributor
who's gone to the trouble of doing a survey of internal users of
Emacsen (mostly XEmacs)---they're serious---and if there's money in
it, I would be willing to do it, and stifle my opinions as to The
Right Thing in favor of getting something usable out the door.
Note that if I end up running things, I would promise to try hard to
get anything you ask for in such a proposal into the release (assuming
it gets by the board both in principle and in terms of being
reasonable for 21.6), but anything without advance documentation is
likely to get shoved into the mainline for 22.0, or possibly a branch
that somebody else would shepherd and eventually get merged.
Feel free to ask the other board members about how things worked for
21.4 if you're worried about how fair I might be in that situation.
